AXS Ticketing Launches in LA's Staples Center, Other AEG Venues

AXS Ticketing, AEG's new ticketing platform, has officially launched in Los Angeles.


On Monday, AXS Ticketing replaced Ticketmaster as the platform for AEG-owned venues Staples Center, Nokia Theatre L.A. Live and Club Nokia. The first event to be offered through AXS.com in Los Angeles will be a June 28 Beyonce concert at Staples Center.

Back in April, we covered the Fairness in Ticketing Act of 2012, a bill designed to regulate ticket sales to events like Predators games or concerts at Bridgestone Arena in secondary markets (re-seller markets). By forcing scalpers to register with the state, proponents argue that the bill provides entertainment consumers with a more transparent process for buying re-sold tickets.

Eventbrite Tests Ticket Sales Service in Brooklyn
This year’s Meatopia festival in Brooklyn introduced guests to carnivorous dishes from around the world, and to a new ticketing system by Eventbrite.  Previously Eventbrite only sold tickets in advance through its website, but its new system, Eventbrite at the Door, lets any event creator operate a box office using an iPad and a credit card scanner.
